How can I get my Overseas Qualifications Assessed?

The Curriculum Council can assess and provide an equivalence statement for secondary school level qualifications. The statement relates an overseas certificate/academic year to a year level in the Western Australian school system. It does not give a grade-for-grade comparison. To obtain an equivalence statement you need to:

  • complete an application form (see below),
  • provide original or certified copies of certificates/academic records and, if applicable, an English translation of documents. Translations can be obtained from the Translators International: www.translators-international.com.au
  • provide change of name documentation if applicable,
  • provide photo identification (e.g. drivers licence, passport)
  • pay $30.

Please do not send original documents by post. If you have to post your application, send copies of your documents that have been certified as true copies by a commissioner of declarations or justice of the peace.

The Curriculum Council cannot assess

  • certificates/qualifications awarded by private organisations not within the country's education system,
  • trade qualifications,
  • post-secondary qualifications.

Post your completed application and certified copies of documents to:
